Review: "It" by Alexa Chung
Similar to How to be Parisian Wherever you Are, It serves as a mini coffee table book filled with photos and snippets of information and thoughts from inside Alexa Chung's brain.
Alexa Chung is known for her effortless chic-ness and this wee book does not disappoint in terms of design. It feels beautiful to hold, the paper is of really good quality and has a great matte finish. The photos themselves are an eclectic mix of personal photos, portraits of famous faces and movie stills. The book also contains art work presumably done by Chung herself.
In regards to content, the book is like taking a step inside the mind of Chung and provides her thoughts and quips on a wide range of subjects. The subjects themselves are fairly modern with Instagram, dating, music and selfies getting a mention. Unlike How to Be Parisian (previously reviewed on this blog), It has a sense of warmth and engagement with the reader and when reading this book you don't feel like you are being spoken down to. Rather, it's just like your having a chat to Chung herself. Her charisma and warmth translates well onto the page which is no easy feat.
